Wheels for March 25 by John Kanelis
We had no noon meeting this week, but instead we gathered at the Discovery Center for a wonderful evening of family fun. We munched on pizza, washed it down with refreshments and then enjoyed some ice cream. Many thanks to Chip Lindsey, director of the Discovery Center, and -- of course -- one of our Rotarians, for a wonderful time. We and our spouses, not to mention our kids and grandkids, enjoyed the interactive attractive attractions.
It's time to register for the Tejas Multi-District Conference. We have until April 6 to register without paying a late fee. District 5730, which is joining several other districts at the San Antonio Rotary fest, will have more than 30 displays at the House of Friendship. The conference runs from April 29 until May 2. We'll welcome our incoming Group Study Exchange team from Thailand to the conference; the team will make its final presentation to the throng of Rotarians. We'll also get to hear from more than 40 foreign exchange students, Rotary Director Phil Silvers. "Our conference this year is an excellent opportunity to meet and learn from Rotarians in six districts," says District Governor Jim Cole. To register, go to www.tejasrotaryconference.org.

Take a look at Amarillo Magazine. The latest edition of the Amarillo Globe-News' monthly magazine is out and it contains the second edition of Rotary Action, which highlights the activities of the five clubs in Amarillo and Canyon. The theme this issue is our clubs' international outreach. Be sure to look at it.
Be sure to attend a GSE welcoming. On Monday, April 5, we're gathering at the Virgil Patterson Auditorium, 701 S. Taylor, from 6 to 8:30 p.m., to meet the incoming team from District 3360 in northern Thailand. This team will begin its monthlong journey through West Texas here in Amarillo and we're planning a hearty party for the team that night. We'll serve light snacks. Mark it down on your calendar and be there to welcome our Thai visitors to West Texas.
